TOPHAT CAFE IN CLOVELLY

It has been my pleasure to bake two cakes for TopHat cafe in Clovelly so far

The first flavour I decided to make was the one that everyone loves and everyone picks over any other. C.H.O.C.O.L.A.T.E!

Each of seven layers of CHOCOLATE CAKE was frosted WITH CARAMEL ICING and the whole cake was covered in chocolate. Caramel creations and golden sand on top gave the cake a bit more special vibe.

Cake number two.. More naked style, sort of an unfinished look, that is a very unique idea. Flowers or fresh fruit on top, see-through cake or just frosting between layers and nothing on sides. You truly can do anything when putting a cake together and decorating it. The look I wanted to achieve was a bit more wintery, as it is still a bit cold and I was thinking about the flavours too. In Czech, we make gingerbread cookies for Christmas (and the weather is freezing as you may know), so it reminded me of cinnamon and gingerbread spices and honey. And the cake idea was here. CINNAMON CAKE WITH HONEY-CINNAMON ICING, topped with fresh flowers. Wouldn't mind having a slice with a hot cup of tea in this unpleasant weather now actually.
